AI email marketing: from brief to reviewed campaign

Create useful email variants while keeping consent, factual claims and sending decisions under control.

The key idea

AI can assist drafting and adaptation; a coherent offer, valid audience permissions and reliable measurement remain essential.

Our method

Define the audience, purpose and single next action. Generate distinct subject lines and message angles from an approved brief, then verify every product claim. Review the destination page and keep suppression lists and sending permissions in the existing authorised system.

How to assess progress

Compare meaningful clicks, qualified enquiries and unsubscribe signals. Delivery and attribution can distort results, so use comparable audiences and observation windows rather than celebrating open rates alone.

Decision

Choose the learning question before the wording: does the audience need clearer proof, a simpler offer or a lower effort next step? Select one of these uncertainties for the next campaign. Changing all three makes a response difference difficult to explain.

Exercise

Use one approved offer and draft two messages for the same audience. Keep sender, destination and offer constant; change only the chosen message angle. Ask a reviewer to underline every factual claim and match it to the brief. Check both versions on a phone and follow every link through the intended completion step.

Deliverable

Create a campaign card containing audience definition, exclusion rules, hypothesis, two reviewed drafts, destination, primary outcome and observation window. Add a results table for delivered messages, meaningful visits, completed actions and unsubscribes, with the same definitions for each version.

Pitfall

A small response difference is not a reliable winner by itself. Record the volumes behind rates and any delivery problems. If the campaign has too few completed actions to support the original comparison, treat the result as inconclusive and use it to refine the next question.
